DNE World Fruit Sales, exclusive importers of Australian citrus into the US, are pleased with the size and quality of the first Navel arrivals of the season, according to national sales manager Stu Monaghan.
'We're definitely one to two sizes larger than last year with plenty of size 56s available, followed by 48s,' Mr Monghan told The Packer.
'The taste should be exceptional this year because of a higher-than-usual brix level accompanied by stable acid levels,' he continued.
The first shipment arrived in Long Beach, California from Adelaide on 18 June, with a second arriving on 26 June.
It is estimated that 1.2m cartons will be shipped in total this year, down from 1.6m last campaign.
