South Africa's Department of Rural Development has splashed out on an investment aimed at helping emerging citrus farmers in Peddie, the Eastern Cape.
The Department has invested some R9m in aiding farmers with their exports to the European market, TNA online reported.
Some 200ha of oranges are expected to be harvested this season, with the fruit said to be in high demand internationally.
