Dole Food Company, the world's largest fruit and vegetable producer, has revealed that it will start exporting Romania-grown fruit and vegetables within the next two years.
The company's Romanian commercial director Bogdan Grama told financiarul.ro that exports would include apples, pears, grapes and potatoes, and that the company had already been in contact with several local producers over the proposal.
'This year, Dole Romania will hit €35m in local turnover, with bananas accounting for 90 per cent of the figure,' Mr Grama added.
Dole began operating in Romania in 2009, and has a 25 per cent share in the country's fresh produce market, the website reported.
