Taiwan has become the latest supplying country and major import market in Asia to join the list of some 250 exhibitors that have already signed up to take part at Asia Fruit Logistica 2010, which takes place in Hong Kong on 8-10 September.

China, Korea, the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia will also represent Asia at the three-day trade show, with other exhibitors drawn from the US, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Peru, South Africa, Egypt, Turkey, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Austria and the UK.

'China is set to be the largest single country at Asia Fruit Logistica again this year,' said Gérald Lamusse, managing director of event organiser Global Produce Events GmbH. 'It demonstrates that Hong Kong is the ideal location for Asia Fruit Logistica, both as a hub for the Asian Region as a whole and as an access point to the Chinese market.'

Over 3,500 trade visitors from across the world are expected to descend on Hong Kong for the event, two-thirds of whom come from Asia and 80 per cent of whom occupy key buying roles in their organisations.

'Our event gives you the very best insight into the Asian fresh produce market,' added Mr Lamusse. 'Asia Fruit Logistica and Asiafruit Congress brings you in direct contact with the market for fresh fruits and vegetables in Asia.'
