KG Fruits has commended The French Garden Ltd after the company passed £1 million mark in sales of its soft fruit this year.

French Garden brothers John, Stephen and Bill Oakden were presented with decanters following the achievement at their New Covent Garden Market premises. The brothers have been working with KG Fruits for three years and the success is built upon the quality produce they supply to their customers.

Salesman John Oakden said: "It's all about building key relationships. It's important we continue to develop our existing customer base, while collecting new business. Seventy-five per cent of our business is to caterers with the remainder going to independent retailers."

Nick Marston, managing director at KG Fruits said that this is the first time in 30 years that anyone has passed the million pound mark and praised the company's efforts. He said: "KG fruits works with 24 wholesalers in soft fruit and we want to associate with the best people. The wholesale turnover has totalled £7.5m turnover this year and with £1 million of this figure coming from French Garden that is an impressive achievement. We're trying to ensure we supply consistent quality produce and the KG launch of the Big Berry Box for Class I fruit has played its part this year. This year we have sold around 300 tonnes of the Big Berry Box Produce and we want to create a trademark. We're looking forward to continuing our relationship with French Garden. It's been a good year and we're now looking to build on this. "
