Hargreaves Plants has signed a deal with Pico in British Columbia to work with its kiwifruit material, said a statement today from Rupert Hargreaves, commercial director.

“Initially, we are looking at four varieties and investigating appropriate territories. This is a relatively new source and the material looks adaptable to North Europe,” he added.

The material is bred at PARC and first grafting is planned by Hargreaves Plants this spring. Interested parties should contact the company shortly.

Hargreaves has expanded its range of plants rapidly to include blueberries, asparagus & kiwifruit in addition to its mainstream conventional soft fruit plants.
