Fruit importer and ingredients specialist JO Sims has announced it will commence trading with Traina Dried Fruit Inc, a grower, sun- drier and packer of fruits based in Joaquin Valley, California. The appointment positions JO Sims as the UK supplier of Traina’s range of California sun dried fruits with no added sugar.
The sun-ripened fruits are washed, sorted, cut and placed on redwood trays to dry yielding an intense flavour as well as colour. The range includes California Fancy Apricots, and California Angelino plums which are chewy and moist.
Traina Dried Fruit was founded three generations ago by an Italian family who introduced their tradition of sun-drying fruits to the US. Today, the company is still family-owned and operated, producing sun dried fruits and vegetables for ingredient companies and food distributors all over the world.
JO Sims already works Ocean Spray ITG, Dinter Trading GmbH and Oxford Frozen Foods.
