California-based Sun World has named three new distributors as licensed marketers of its new stone fruit lines.

The companies named are Capespan Exports and Green Marketing International in South Africa along with Gesex SA from Chile.

The appointments mean the companies are now able to export fruit from the new plum, apricot, peach and nectarine varieties ground by licensed Sun World producers.

David Marguleas, senior vice president with Sun World, said: “These three international fruit companies bring broad distribution strength, solid supply relationships and rich marketing expertise to our expanding international licensee network.”

He added the new appointments rounded out the company’s southern hemisphere stonefruit marketer licensing structure, with fruit from producers in Australia, Chile, South Africa and New Zealand now all being handled by two companies in each.

The fruit to be marketed includes the company’s Black Diamond and Black Giant plum brands, apricots under the Honeycot brand and a line of early ripening peaches under the Amber Crest brand.
