A new design of stone and clod separation has been introduced by Tong Peal for its Evoultion Cleaner.

A year’s worth of trials have reportedly demonstrated the ability of the cleaner to cope with a wide range of root vegetables. It uses multi-fluted, soft rubber rollers extruding against polished stainless steel rollers or rubber clod rollers.

Its versatility is underwritten by the ability to adjust the rollers both ways, the option of different rollers, and the variable speed motor.

The non-aggressive 8mm roller is suitable for salad potatoes, while the 10 and 20mm flutes are designed for larger samples.

Adjusting the height and gap controls the amount of stone and clod extraction from a crop, with threaded adjusters linking all clod rollers together for ease of adjustment. The Evolution Cleaner retails at approximately £19,000.
