Outgoing MD

James Truscott is to take over the MD role at Branston from the long-serving incumbent Graeme Beattie.

Beattie has been MD at the Lincolnshire potato firm for 26 years, but is set to retire on1 May 2015. He will remain on the board in a non-executive capacity, however.

Truscott, currently sales and marketing director, takes up his new position on 2 May 2015.

Elsewhere, John Ward, a shareholder director of Branston for 26 years, has also retired from the board.

The changes were announced by company chairman Guy McCracken following the recent annual Branston shareholders’ meeting.

On the changes, McCracken said:'I wish to thank John for his long-standing commitment to the Branston business andthe help and advice he has consistently provided over that period which was greatlyappreciated.

'Graeme has made an outstanding contribution to the growth and development ofBranston throughout his time as MD, and I am delighted he isremaining on the board so that we will continue to benefit from his skills andexperience.

'James Truscott has been an excellent sales and marketing director and I lookforward to working closely with him in his new role.'

Truscott added:“It is both a great privilege and challenge to be leading such a renowned and well-respected business.

'Since my arrival I have had the pleasure to be working with some of the industry’sleading professionals, and I look forward to moving the business forward alongsidethe talented team we have in place at Branston.

'On a personal level, I would like to thank Graeme for his guidance since my arrival,and I look forward to working with him in this new role.”
