Mangoes carefully sourced from Thailand’s Chachoengsao province

Shinsegae Department Store introduced two new gift sets featuring premium Thai mangoes for the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday.
The Korean retailer has collaborated with growers in one of Thailand’s premier mango-producing regions, Chachoengsao, to source fruit for the limited-edition offerings, applying its own quality standards throughout the process from cultivation and harvesting to ripening, sorting and logistics.
Shinsegae Department Store has previously worked directly with producers via its Select Farm programme to manage the highest level of production history, cultivation conditions and harvesting standards. This is the first year Shinsegae has worked with international producers as part of the programme to develop its gift boxes.
A distinctive feature of the set is Shinsegae’s ripening management, which ensures only mangoes at 85 per cent ripeness are selected to ensure the fruit reaches its optimal flavour just before the Lunar New Year holiday. Shinsegae conducts testing at origin and right through the supply chain to ensure standards are maintained through to the consumer.
Two gift sets will be available this year, a Thai mango set with six pieces of fruit for 70,000 won and a mixed set of nine pieces of fruit featuring Thai mangoes and Korean apples and pears for 110,000.
A Shinsegae Department Store representative said the Lunar New Year focuses on delivering products in their most delicious state to customers.
“[Shinsegae] collaborated directly with premium Thai producers, participating in the planning process from the cultivation stage, and, together with domestic Select Farms, further solidified Shinsegae’s unique quality standards,” they said.
“Going forward, we will continue to raise the bar for holiday gifting with transparent and trustworthy premium food products from both domestic and international producers.”
