In 2019, Summer Citrus from South Africa (SCSA) will celebrate 20 years of providing fresh citrus to the US market.
Founded in 1999 and rebranded in 2016, SCSA has assembled an impressive team of growers, importers, local and global officials, logistics and marketing teams to ensure a sophisticated business model to meet the demand of US consumers.
“We believe in the people behind our business and know that it takes a very talented and committed team to ensure that we grow and deliver the best-quality produce,” said Suhanra Conradie, CEO of SCSA.
SCSA supports the US market during off-harvest months in order to meet the demand of consumers by having continual fruit available domestically.
While Summer Citrus spans from June to October, the company actively engages year-round with the US market through continued conversation and relationship building with retailers, trade contacts, import companies, and the USDA.
Despite the previous season’s severe drought, Conradie is prepared to discuss opportunities for the 2019 crop. “We have been blessed with sufficient rain and look forward to the 2019 harvest for our 20th year anniversary.”
