The dates have been announced for LUV, a brand-new trade fair for table grape supply chains. The inaugural edition will take place in Puglia, Italy on 22-24 October, 2024 at Bari’s New Fiera del Levante.

This three-day event is unique in Europe, focusing on exploring topics related to the sector and facilitating discussions on innovation, market trends, and future developments in the supply chain.

LUV said it wants to foster networking and business opportunities among industry professionals and provide insights and delve into various aspects of the sector, such as innovations in agronomy, environmental impact reduction in agricultural practices, post-harvest grape management, market trends, and consumption scenarios for the next five years.

The event takes place in Puglia, the leading region for table grapes, which, along with Sicily is home to 92 per cent of Italy’s total output. According to Istat data, in 2022, there were 22,000ha of table grapes planted in Puglia, with a few municipalities in the southeast of Bari representing the most significant European production hub.

“For Puglia and the role that Italian table grape viticulture plays, LUV will be an unmissable opportunity,” said Mirko Sgaramella of Fruit Communication, the organiser of the event. “LUV stems from a well-established realisation: to face challenges in a structured way and improve the sector’s condition, it is necessary to network, delve into, and share knowledge. To achieve this, it is crucial to meet at a single, large dedicated event. I invite everyone interested to become protagonists of this fair: all the information is available on the luvfiera.com website.”

Sgaramella said LUV offers companies the opportunity to meet potential national and international customers, showcase their offer, and organise promotional events and press conferences, all within a unique European event dedicated to table grapes.

The event is backed by organisations including CUT - Commissione Italiana Uva da Tavola, Distretto Produttivo dell’Uva da Tavola, ALIS - Associazione Logistica dell’Intermodalità Sostenibile, GAL Sud-Est Barese, Copagri, and numerous cities in Italy.
