Freshconex business forum 2011

The Freshconex 2012 Business Forum, which takes place from 8-10 February in Berlin next year, will present the latest trends and innovations in the fresh produce convenience sector, with the third and final day of the event looking at 'Technology and new product development'.

New seeds, innovative varieties and continuously updated technologies have resulted in changes across the entire supply chain. Daniel Kretzschmar, produce chain manager at Nunhems for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, will introduce the latest innovations and describe the development of new varieties in the session covering 'Fresh produce convenience and new seed technology'.

New products and product mixes are generating new sales potential. Robert Verloop, senior vice-president marketing at Naturipe Farms LLC, presents the latest industry trends and offers an assessment of future trends in 'New product mixes in the fresh convenience market sector'.

Shelf-life is a key factor in the future growth of the fresh produce convenience sector. Simon Matthews, general manager at AgriCoat NatureSeal, and Sayandro Versteylen, director of product technologies at Paper Pak Industries, discuss new technological solutions along with what to expect in the future and what impact these technologies will have on product quality during 'New technologies to improve shelf life and product quality'.

'Technology and new product development' follows the day one theme, 'New opportunities in marketing for fresh produce convenience' and day two theme 'Food safety', with all three offering excellent opportunities to share in-depth information and exchange ideas with guest speakers and international industry representatives.

The Business Forum is staged in Hall 7.2b and fully integrated into the Freshconex exhibition area. FRESHCONEX is organised by Messe Berlin GmbH, while the Business Forum is presented by Fresh Convenience Magazine (London) and the United Fresh Produce Association (USA).
