Company aims to bridge the gap between physical product movement and digital infrastructure, helping to standardise critical data flow and enhance traceability across the fresh produce industry
Kwik Lok has joined the International Fresh Produce Association’s (IFPA) Supply Chain of the Future initiative as an executive sponsor of the Harmonized Standards & Smart Data Escrow Steering Committee.
IFPA said the bag closing solution specialist’s participation signals a ”bold commitment to modernising packaging’s role in data transparency, traceability and customer loyalty”.
With a focus on helping the food supply chain evolve toward more sustainable and intelligent solutions, Kwik Lok brings a “unique voice” to the steering committee, it noted.
“As a packaging technology leader, we see our role as a connector between physical product movement and the digital infrastructure that supports it,” said Eric Hill, CEO of Kwik Lok.
The connection underscores packaging’s foundational role in enabling seamless supply chain operations, he outlined.
“We’re proud to contribute to greater transparency and trust in the supply chain by helping to standardise critical data flow,” Hill explained.
”Harmonised standards, strong data governance and interactive customer touch points are key to making that possible.”
Kwik Lok’s involvement in the steering committee will help ensure that practical considerations from across the supply chain, including traceability labelling, interoperability with GS1, other global frameworks and consumer engagement, are built in.
“The future of food traceability won’t be built in isolation,” said Drew Zabrocki, CEO of Totem and coalition chairperson for the Supply Chain of the Future initiative.
“We’re excited to welcome Kwik Lok into this work – they understand that packaging is more than a label; it’s a multi-faceted digital touchpoint.
”Their expertise will bridge physical logistics and data-driven insights across the fresh supply chain, delivering unique value to both brands and consumers,” he added.
