Lebensmittel werden regelmäßig auf Rückstände von Pflanzenschutzmitteln kontrolliert. Für die nationale Berichterstattung für Deutschland wurden laut dem Bundeszentrum für Ernährung (BZfE) in 2020 in den 16 Bundesländern 18.921 Lebensmittelproben untersucht, davon 13.956 Proben aus der Gruppe Obst, Gemüse und andere pflanzliche Lebensmittel.
