Sharpak SPS punnets

UK-based rigid plastic packaging designer and manufacturer Sharp Interpack (Sharpak) has introduced its new SPS range of punnets in preparation for the upcoming soft fruit season.

The new packaging has evolved from the group's existing SPE range, and offers enhancements in product visibility and up to 10 per cent better crate fit, according to Sharpak.

SPS packaging is made from 50-80 per cent recycled PET containing approved consumer waste from the UK and Europe, and boast an uninterrupted product view lengthways with ribs at the punnet corners for extra stability.

'The soft fruit market has wide and varied packaging demands, and our punnet ranges are evolving to fit those customer needs,' said Mark Tollman, sales director at Sharp Interpack. 'While providing improved product visibility, the SPS family offers greater crate fit which ultimately means fewer trucks on the road with more volume per truckload.'

The range, which is currently made for the UK market, comprises depths of 40mm, 60mm and 80mm, and will be sold to the market for the first time in January 2010.
