Ian Wall, who will be "truly missed"

Tributes have been paid to Ian Wall, AC Goatham's farm manager who died recently followed a tragic accident.

The 52-year-old dad is believed to have died after being hit by a falling tree on land off Painter's Forstal Road, Faversham, Kent, shortly after 12.15pm on January 18.

A spokesperson for his employer, said: 'The family and team at AC Goatham & Son are very saddened to hear of the death of our much-loved colleague and friend Ian Wall, who died in tragic circumstances this month.

'Ian had worked with us for the past two years and was our farm manager. He was very much part of the AC Goatham & Son family, and will be deeply missed by all the team here. Always willing to help, Ian was possibly one of the most organised and pro-active people the team have come across.

'Ian had a real gift with people; both inside and out of work, Ian was always finding solutions to problems, sourcing the right piece of equipment, person or knowledge to make things run a little more smoothly.

'One of his major talents, however, was gauging the potential of a team, managing a group, developing people, encouraging them so they could perform at the best of their abilities. The equipment available to the farm teams throughout the business benefitted to his attention to detail, meticulous maintenance schedules saved time and effort when essential kit was ready to go, every time.'

The spokesperson added that the business had been told by Wall's family that he was his happiest working with the AC Goatham and Son team, and that the feeling was 'entirely mutual': 'There are few people we could be happier to see at the start of a working day. We will truly miss Ian and our most sincere condolences go to his family and friends.'
