Spain’s Agroponiente Group’s sales grew 4 per cent in volume and value in the first half of the 2023/24 campaign, despite what it described as a difficult start to the season. The figures build on 2023’s record results, in which sales hit €340m.

The company said the results reflect its strong performance in a winter campaign that had had a bumpy start for the sector due to production problems and fluctuating prices during September and October. However, the improved situation in November and December compensated for the poor start.

CEO Imanol Almudí commented: “The group is consolidating an excellent growth dynamic that began two seasons ago, in constant continuous improvement, both with regard to internal processes and in service to customers and farmers, which is differentiating us each once again from our commitment to Conscious Agriculture and a close and professional way of doing things that attracts and builds loyalty among all the agents that are part of this great project.

“We want to thank all those people who support, live and share the Agroponiente spirit and we invite those who do not know us to approach the company to be part of it.”

The company said it anticipates s positive second half to the current winter campaign and is confident that it will achieve double-digit growth in 2024.
