Damcohas announced the appointed Alexander Drozdov as its new Russian chief executive with effect from 1 February 2012, moving from his position as CEO north east Europe region in agility, where he was located in St Petersburg.
Drozdov will be part of the European leadership team, and reports to the European CEO, while his role will be to lead the company's growth in Russia.
'I am very pleased to welcome Alexander Drozdov to Damco,' said Damco CEO Rolf Habben-Jansen. 'He brings over 18 years experience and knowledge from the industry that will be of great value, as we implement our ambitious growth plans for Russia.'
And Drozdov added: 'I am happy to join Damco team and todrive its further progress in Russia. The logistics business is becoming increasingly complex and at times of global economical uncertainty, success in emerging countries has increasing value. Combining knowledge of both I will be able to use all my managerial and logistics expertise to bring Damco to the leading position in this high potential market.'
