The figure represents a slight increase on last season’s total

Chilean cherry exports are expected to reach 131mn cartons in 2025/26 according to preliminary forecasts from the country’s Cherry Committee. This represents a slight increase on last season’s total.
The estimate is based on a survey conducted amongst the committee’s members between 10 and 17 October.
The committee noted that while minor adjustments could still be made as the season progresses due to the date the estimate was made, this will be the only official estimate it releases.
“This figure is an early snapshot of the season. There could be minor adjustments as we progress with the harvest and logistics, but our expectation remains for a volume very similar to last year’s,” said the committee’s executive director Claudia Soler. “The focus is on doing things right, with an emphasis on quality, compliance, and marketing support.”
Currently, Chile accounts for 96 per cent of cherry exports from the Southern Hemisphere. In this regard, the committee said it is working on a promotional campaign in China, focusing on strengthening the image of Chilean fruit, consolidating consumer preference, and supporting the commercial process in coordination with importers, distributors, and retailers.
At the same time, efforts will continue to diversify markets, with promotional activities planned for the US, South Korea, Thailand, and Brazil, among others.
