RPC specialist Ifco has issued a Declaration of Conformity to help customers and pooling partners navigate the EU’s incoming PPWR
Reusable packaging container (RPC) specialist Ifco has said that it is supporting retailers, producers, and growers in fulfilling the requirements of the upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), as well as applicable food-contact and chemical-safety requirements.
From 12 August 2026, manufacturers must hold a formal written Declaration of Conformity for each packaging type they place on the EU market.
Ifco explained that its Declaration of Conformity provides the necessary technical data and statements to support customers and pooling partners in their PPWR compliance processes.
”PPWR introduces mandatory targets to reduce packaging waste across Europe and marks an important step towards a more circular packaging system,” said Ifco chief executive Mike Pooley.
“For many companies, regulation brings new complexity. For Ifco customers, it confirms the direction we have been working towards for decades: replacing single-use packaging with reusable solutions.
”We have already built and scaled the reusable packaging infrastructure the fresh grocery supply chain needs,” he added.
