Jaguacy

Jaguacy Brazil is expecting a sharp rise in avocado shipments this year as it continues to invest in new production.

With the new season due to get underway in March, the company is forecasting a shipment volume of 370 containers in 2018, which will be received by its Dutch division, Rotterdam-based Jaguacy Holland.

“Brazilian production of Hass avocados has been growing in recent years, and Jaguacy follows this trend with around 3,000 tonnes expected for the 2018 season,” said marketing director Lígia Falanghe.

“We are working on the continuous improvement of our processes and the sustainability of the production chain, to meet the requirements of both the external and internal markets.”

Located in the country’s main avocado producing region, Jaguacy is the biggest producer and exporter of Hass avocados in Brazil.

“Brazilian avocados are known for their unique flavour and colour, being distinguished by their quality and also by Jaguacy’s commitment to social responsibility,” Falanghe added.
