Event combined knowledge sharing, business matchmaking sessions and networking
Almost 4,000 trade visitors gathered in Medellín last week for the seventh edition of Territorio Aguacate, one of the most important for Latin America’s avocado industry.

The event, organised by Corpohass in partnership with Agrilink, brought together representatives from 24 countries, including Mexico, Chile, Peru, US, Spain, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Bolivia, and Nicaragua.
It featured more than 150 exhibiting companies, specialised advisory sessions in seven areas of the production chain, and a new version of Avotour, an experience that allowed visitors to learn firsthand about processes and best practices in various crops across the country.
Colombian Hass avocado exports continue to grow strongly. So far this year, the country has shipped more 147,013 tonnes of the fruit, representing a 46.6 per cent increase on the year-earlier period.
Katheryn Mejía, executive president of Corpohass, commented: “These events are essential for strengthening the avocado production chain, promoting knowledge exchange, and continuing to position Colombia as a global leader in sustainability and quality”.
The programme included 44 talks and conferences on sustainability, traceability, genetic innovation, and market access. Among the speakers were Kevin Whitaker, former US ambassador to Colombia; Rodrigo Suárez, climate and sustainability leader at Marsh; renowned chef Jorge Rausch. and Laura Davis, head of membership at the World Avocado Organisation.
The event also featured business matchmaking sessions, in which international buyers had the opportunity to explore new commercial opportunities with Colombian exporters.
“With these results, Territorio Aguacate 2025 reaffirms Medellín as the Latin American capital of agricultural innovation and consolidates Colombia as a global leader in quality, sustainability, and competitiveness within the Hass avocado industry,” Corpohass said.
