Figures reflect upward trajectory of shipments and consolidation of US and Chile as Peru’s main markets

Peruvian exports of fresh limes totalled 40,378 between January and October 2025, putting the country on course to break its 41,602-tonne shipment record of 2024.
Customs data shows that US$35mn of Tahiti and Persian limes have been exported so far this year, compared to US$41mn for the whole of 2024.
As reported in Agraria, the largest buyers of Peruvian limes were the US, with 38.6 per cent of the total, and Chile, with 25.7 per cent. Other significant markets include Panama (8.9 per cent), the Netherlands (8.9 per cent) and the Dominican Republic (5.9 per cent).
In terms of production, Piura leads the way, accounting for 81.2 per cent of the exported volume, followed by Lambayeque with 16.2 per cent, Ica with 1.8 per cent, and other regions – Áncash, Lima, La Libertad, and Junín – with 0.8 per cent.
