To mark the achievement, tennis star visits new Coronation Food Project Hub in Glasgow which will boost food redistribution in the region

Andy Murray joined teams from Albert Barteltt and The Felix Project/FareShare to celebrate the partnership reaching its 20 million meals milestone.

Albert Bartlett has partnered with FareShare for the past 15 years, supplying surplus potatoes that are redistributed across the organisation’s UK network of charity partners.

Albert Bartlett reached 10 million meals with FareShare in March 2023, before celebrating 15 million in February 2025.

In September 2025 it was announced that the food redistribution charity would merge with its London-based counterpart The Felix Project to form a bigger organisation with greater reach and impact.

To mark the 20-million-meal milestone, Albert Bartlett brand ambassador Andy Murray visited the FareShare depot in Glasgow and toured the new Coronation Food Project Hub, which will officially open in a few months’ time.

The FareShare Glasgow and West of Scotland depot is managed by Move On, an independent Scottish charity that helps redistribute surplus food to charities and community groups across the region.

The Coronation Food Project Hub aims to supercharge capacity to rescue, sort and redistribute good-to-eat surplus food to those facing food insecurity across Glasgow and the West of Scotland.

During the visit, Murray followed a potato’s journey through the hub, and spent time with volunteers and charity partners to hear more about the difference the work makes on the ground.

He said: “Seeing the work happening here in Glasgow has been really inspiring. It’s brilliant to be part of a partnership that has now helped provide 20 million meals to those that need them most, and to meet the people making such a real difference in local communities. The new Coronation Hub is amazing – what they do to redistribute food is so important”.

Charlotte Hill OBE, CEO The Felix Project and FareShare, added: “We know that more and more people are struggling to afford food and other essentials and this has been made worse recently by the issues in Iran and the Middle East.

“Demand is soaring and it is vital we do all we can to ensure perfectly edible food is ending up on people’s plates.

“I am so grateful to Albert Barlett and all the charity partners who are helping us to rescue so much incredible produce. We look forward to the next 20 million!”
