A software platform adopted by Melon&Co has won an award in the agri category at the second annual C4DTI Digital Trade Awards.

Software developer Contained.io was named Best Agri Software System/Technologies Solutions Provider of the Year. The awards ceremony in April celebrated best practice in global trade digitalisation.

Contained’s BlueRing software platform has been adopted by Melon&Co, enabling them to link manifest data direct from Agricola Famosa’s farms in Brazil, to live QC data captured when the fruit arrives in the UK.

The relevant outputs are then shared with the various companies in Melon&Co’s supply chain via BlueRing. This helps make trade cheaper, faster, simpler and more sustainable.

Alex Szymborski, founder of Contained.io, collected the award along with Justin Szymbroski, CEO of Melon&Co.

Alex said: “The fast paced, quality-led nature of the fresh produce industry is ideally suited to the swift and seamless sharing and reporting of data that the BlueRing platform enables.”

The awards support the objectives of the Centre for Digital Trade and Innovation (C4DTI) and the ceremony takes place alongside the Digital Trade Conference. The aim is to bring together industry and government practitioners and recognise excellence in delivering a cheaper, faster and simpler trading system.
