Premium strawberry brand enters second season of Australia-wide distribution in December 2023
Driscoll’s is gearing up for the upcoming Sweetest Batch strawberry season with the Tasmanian-grown berries set to hit Australian shelves in December 2023.
The Zara variety – grown in Tasmania and marketed under the Sweetest Batch brand – will be available at Coles, Woolworths and independent supermarkets across the country until April 2024 in 300g and 350g sized punnets.
This will be the second season the Sweetest Batch strawberries will be available nationwide after an official Australian launch in 2022.
The premium variety was commercialised in the UK in 2017 and according to Driscoll’s Sweetest Batch strawberries are left on the plant for a few more days to enhance the development of colour and flavour.
Driscoll’s said volumes will still be limited this season as production continues to develop, consumers may see prices fluctuate across the course of the season as a result.
