US group Sun World International has announced that industry veteran Mark Bataska will take up the role of vice-president of logistics and supply chain management.

In the newly-created position, Mr Bataska will be responsible for strategic and operational planning with quality control transportation, packinghouse facilities and material procurement.

'We are very pleased to have an executive with his specialised background join the Sun World team,' said group COO Kevin Andrews. 'Mark is a proven industry leader and will be a real asset to the company.'

Prior to joining Sun World, Mr Bataska held supply chain management roles with JBS Swift and Company and Del Monte Foods.
