UK software and IT consultancy organisation Anglia Business Solutions has today (Friday 30 July) announced in a press release that it has setup a joint venture in the US with California firm AgriWise.
The new company AgFresh Solutions, based in San Ramon, willservice the US fresh food market with its award-winning LINKFresh suite as well as the AgriWisebusiness intelligence (BI) range of products, Anglia said.
“Since its launch five years ago, the Microsoft Dynamics NAV-based LINKFresh suite has established an excellent reputation as a transformation tool in the UK fresh food industry,” explained Anglia’s commercial director Robert Frost.
“Its leading position in the UK has attracted considerable interest from US-based fresh food businesses. Once they experience the advanced technology in action, they want it.”
Mr Frost said operating from the new base in California will mean US companies can benefit through the presence of a locally based implementation and support team.
“We are very excited by the massive potential market in the US for both the LINKFresh suite and AgriWise range of business intelligence solutions,” added AgFresh joint managing director Jimmy Moir.
AgFresh has already gained its first significant LINKFresh contract in the US fresh produce industry with the leading Giumarra company.
“We also have a number of other high profile potential users who have been impressed with the depth of functionality and innovative technology incorporated in the products,” explained Mr Moir.
The combination of the LINKFresh and AgriWise applications means AgFresh is well placed to enable US-based fresh produce companies to compete using real time information as a business aid, Mr Moir concluded.
