South Korea has invested US$2.6m in vegetable production in Northern Vietnam's Quang Binh province, reports tuoitrenews.vn.
The project was unveiled by Korean Project of International Agriculture director Cho Weon Dae, who said itwould run for four years and started in December 2011.
'Besides developing products that are safe for Vietnamese consumers, we also plan to produce other potential vegetables to supply to Korean agricultural distributors,' he is quoted as saying.
Some 11 different types of vegetables are known to be under cultivation under the scheme, including chilli, potato, tomato, onion and cucumber.
'For those which yield high productivity, we will not only consume them in Korea and Vietnam, but also export to Japan, Taiwan, and the US,' Dae said.
