The Dubai Mall is set to open on 30 October, and has been tipped to revitalise the Emirate’s retail offer.

Of the 1,200 retailers that will be present, over 165 will be making their Middle East debut and will account for over 100,000m2, or almost 30 per cent, of the leasable area.

UK retailer Waitrose will be the mall’s anchor supermarket, with a 5,100m2 outlet, the retailer’s first outside the UK. The store is reported to boast a market-style fresh fruit and vegetables area.

Yousif Al Ali, general manager of The Dubai Mall, commented: “The Dubai Mall is not only revolutionising the shopping mall experience, but providing a revitalising boost to the city’s retail offer.”
