Packaging group Sharp Interpack (Sharpak) has moved to launch a new range of fruit punnets that it says are 'made for Europe', based around the needs of the company's European customer base.
The new SPF500 punnets have a box fit format of 10 up (collapsible crate fit format – 9 up), and is available in five depths of 25mm, 38mm, 58mm, 68mm and 76mm with half height and full height lids – 'Raising the bar on design', the group said.
Manufactured with a sympathetic rib design to maximise strength and ensure the protection of soft fruit during transport, the SPF500 range is designed to withstand the rigours of today's packing systems.
'The launch of the SPF500 offers all the benefits of Sharpak's design experience but with added strength, full traceability and significant environmental benefits having been produced in 80 per cent recycled PET from a European and UK waste stream,' the group said in a statement.
