Carluccio was so impressed with the number of exotic mushrooms now cultivated in the UK that he decided to take some to the palace for Prince Charles' birthday on November 14 instead of his usual gift of a truffle. The mushrooms were sourced from Evesham grower Oakfield Farm Products and Leicestershire grower Livesey Brothers
