Waitrose Love Life ready meal

Mushroom and aubergine ragu is one of four low-cal ready meals being launched by the supermarket

Waitrose has launched four new calorie-controlled ready meals for those looking to cut down in the New Year.

All four recipes have less than 300 calories per serving and contain at least one of your five-a-day.

Retailing at £3.30, the dishes belong to a range called Love Life, which includes both meat and vegetarian options.

Customers can choose from rainbow vegetables with chicken; mushroom and aubergine ragu; spiced cauliflower with chicken; and ‘mushotto’, a riceless risotto with cleriac and mushroom served in a mushroom, cheese and white wine sauce and topped with sliced roasted mushrooms and steamed kale.
