Asia Fruit Logistica 2016

Following the success of Fruit Logistica in Berlin, the global fresh produce trade is now getting set for Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong.

Berlin was transformed into the capital of the global fresh produce business on 7-9 February as Fruit Logistica attracted more than 77,000 decision-makers from over 130 countries.

The record number of visitors took in a show featuring more than 3,100 exhibitors from over 80 countries, providing a comprehensive overview of the global market.

Many participants laid the foundation for a successful business year during the three days of Fruit Logistica. Now the focus turns to Hong Kong in September, where the global fresh produce trade can look forward to exciting growth opportunities at Asia Fruit Logistica.

Asia’s premier continental trade show for fresh fruit and vegetable marketing returns to Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo Center on 5-7 September – and it promises to be the biggest and best edition to date.

Exhibitors are advised to register now to secure their space. Application forms can be downloaded from the Asia Fruit Logistica website and applications should be made by the 28 February deadline.

More than 13,000 high-quality visitors from 76 different countries attended last year’s Asia Fruit Logistica. Well over three quarters of those visitors came from Asia, representing 20 different markets across the Asia-Pacific region. Exhibitor numbers increased by more than 150, with a total of 813 exhibitors from 43 different countries taking part.

“Asia Fruit Logistica is a fantastic show,” said Nitin Rajkumar of US-based supplier Nargo Industries, a regular exhibitor. “I can meet all my clients in one place. I’ve also made many new contacts, not only from major markets like China and India, but also prospects from across the rest of Asia as well as the Middle East, such is the breadth of the event. These are serious contacts we can convert into business.”

Information-packed programme

Visitors to Asia Fruit Logistica can look forward to a programme packed with information and insights. It all gets under way with Asiafruit Congress, Asia’s premier fresh produce conference event on 4 September. Taking place the day before Asia Fruit Logistica at the same venue, Asiafruit Congress is the perfect primer to the trade show, and the conference is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

On the show-floor at Asia Fruit Logistica, visitors can take part in a range of hall forums. Asiafruit Business Forum offers practical ideas and solutions for better fresh produce marketing and business management. Cool Logistics Asia provides a programme of workshops on cold chain management while Smart Horticulture Asia is a forum on disruptive technology and digitalisation of the supply chain.

Expanding the brand family in Asia

Fruit Logistica and Asia Fruit Logistica – leading global and continental trade shows respectively – are also launching China Fruit Logistica this year, the new annual trade show for the fresh fruit and vegetable business in China. China Fruit Logistica takes place on 14-16 May 2018 in Shanghai.
