Copefrut has inaugurated a new recreational space in the town square of Romeral, the town in Chile’s Curicó region where the company is headquartered, as part of its 70th anniversary celebrations.

The facility, developed in partnership with the Free Sports Foundation, is designed for people of all ages to enjoy outdoor sports safely and inclusively.

The project included the construction of a pump track, as well as the improvement of existing playground equipment, transforming the square into a renewed and accessible meeting place for children and families.

According to Copefrut, one of the most significant decisions was to install this innovative sports facility right in the town’s central square. “This initiative demonstrates that it is possible to revitalise the traditional environments of rural towns in Chile with modern, high-impact community projects, providing a replicable model for other areas of the country,” the company said.

General manager Andrés Fuenzalida commented: “We wanted to celebrate our 70th anniversary with a contribution to the daily life of Romeral. This space is a concrete way of thanking those who have been part of our history since day one”.

The town’s mayor, José Antonio Arellano, said: “This project transforms our town square and provides new opportunities for our children and young people to meet and be physically active. We greatly appreciate that local companies like Copefrut invest in the development of Romeral”.

With this donation, Copefrut said it reaffirms its commitment to the community where its headquarters and operations have been located for several decades and with which it maintains a deep connection. The initiative seeks to reciprocate the support and trust of the families who have been part of its history, contributing to their well-being and quality of life.
