Daifressh Group continues to reinforce its sustainability strategy through a vertically integrated operating model that combines production, packing and distribution, enabling greater control over quality, traceability and environmental and social performance.

The international group, headquartered in Spain, operates production and logistics platforms in Poland, the Czech Republic, Greece and Morocco, supplying a wide portfolio of fresh fruit and vegetables, primarily berries, citrus and vegetables, to major European retailers.

Vertical integration remains a core component of Daifressh’s positioning. The combination of own production, strategic grower partnerships, packing facilities and an international logistics network allows the company to manage operations end-to-end, ensuring compliance with food safety standards while monitoring resource efficiency and social responsibility across the supply chain.

In Poland, the group manages its own berry production under controlled agronomic conditions. Production systems incorporate biological pest control solutions to reduce the use of chemical inputs, alongside precision irrigation techniques aimed at optimising water consumption. Hydroponic cultivation systems are also implemented, supporting higher yields, improved product consistency and more efficient use of inputs.

Across its operations, Daifressh is implementing measures to improve energy efficiency, optimise packaging solutions and strengthen waste management processes, with a focus on reducing environmental impact at both production and post-harvest stages.

From a social perspective, the group operates with multicultural teams across multiple countries, applying internal policies aligned with international labour, health and safety standards. Ongoing training programmes and monitoring systems are in place to ensure compliance and continuous improvement in working conditions.

The company also maintains long-term relationships with growers and suppliers, promoting transparency and traceability in response to increasing requirements from European retail customers.

Looking ahead, Daifressh continues to integrate ESG criteria into its operational framework, aiming to enhance efficiency, mitigate risks and support the transition towards a more sustainable fresh produce sector. As managing director Ana Claramunt explains: “Our vertically integrated model allows us to take a proactive approach to sustainability, with direct control over key stages of the value chain. We will continue to strengthen this model to deliver consistent quality and service, while improving our environmental and social performance”.
