Greenfood announces landmark agreement to sell fruit and vegetable wholesale operations in Sweden and Finland

Dole Nordic, part of the world’s largest fruit company, Dole, has agreed to buy the majority of Nordic group Greenfood’s Fresh Produce division.
Greenfood currently operates three different business units – Fresh Produce, Picadeli, and Food Solutions – and supplies a broad range of fresh, prepared, and processed fruit and vegetables to customers across Europe and North America.
In a statement, Greenfood said the sale would see the group divest its fruit and vegetable wholesale operations, while the remainder of its business will be unaffected.
The sale is understood to include Sweden-based Greenfood Fresh Produce International, Ewerman, Greenfood Fresh Food, SP Greenfood Sourcing, and a number of other smaller concerns, plus the importer Satotukku in Finland.
However, Greenfood Iberica in Spain will remain part of Greenfood, Fruitnet understands.
“This agreement represents an important strategic step for Greenfood. It enables us to focus even more on our rapidly growing business areas, Picadeli and Food Solutions, where we see significant long-term potential across Europe and the US,” said David von Laskowski, CEO of Greenfood Group.
Completion of the transaction – expected in 2026 – is subject to customary regulatory approvals, including clearance from relevant competition authorities.
The announcement comes after investor Fidelio agreed to take over Nordic Capital’s majority stake in Greenfood.
