Kiwifruit brand partners with Nicola Placucci to promote broader message about daily well-being and healthy nutrition
Italian kiwifruit brand says its new collaboration leading ultramarathon runner Nicola Placucci is aimed at inspiring people to take care of their own well-being.
Placucci, who works as a doctor in his day job, aims to conquer what is reckoned to be the world’s toughest race on 27-29 July when he takes part in the Badwater 135.
Open to just a hundred invited participants from around the world, it’s a 217km marathon that winds through Death Valley and can involve temperatures in excess of 50°C, with an elevation gain of 4,400m from start to finish.
“Badwater is an extreme race and you don’t prepare just by running long distances. Training, recovery, sleep, nutrition, and taking care of your body: as a doctor, even before being an athlete, I know how important it is to build healthy and sustainable habits over time,” says Placucci.
“Nutrition plays a fundamental role in my preparation, and kiwifruit is part of my daily routine. I eat it regularly, especially for breakfast before training, because it’s a fruit rich in vitamin C and represents a simple and natural way to start the day with the right nutritional intake. It’s a choice that perfectly reflects the message I share with Jingold: well-being is built every day, one step at a time.”
