Primland’s sales of South African-grown Oscar Gold kiwifruit are set to jump by 40 per cent this season. As the first arrivals hit the market, the company said the partnership it forged with South African producers over five years ago is now bearing fruit, with over 55,000 trays of Oscar Gold available this year.
“With this collaboration, Primland shares its technological expertise and guarantees quality fruit for the marketplace. This also allows Primland to inform consumers of all the benefits of choosing Oscar Gold kiwifruit,” the company said.
The bigger volume is down to orchards reaching full maturing and increased acreage extending the growing season.
In addition to South African, Primland is now producing Oscar Gold in Chile. With these volumes now gradually entering the market, the company said it is able to offer an off-season product range and provide continuity for the European season, which came to an end a few weeks ago.
Primland’s Oscar Gold is now available from France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, South Africa and Chile.
