The citrus specialist’s festive packaging programme returns following strong performance in 2024

Sunkist Growers has said it is embracing the season by bringing back its limited-edition 10lb holiday-themed Navel orange carton and quarter bin, described as a ”festive nod to the citrus gifts that have brightened tables and stockings for generations”.
This year’s merchandising suite taps into seasonal memories while supporting strong in-store storytelling, the citrus specialist noted.
“From merchandising to marketing, this programme continues to deliver,” said Cassie Howard, senior director of category management and marketing at Sunkist Growers.
“Last season’s holiday carton drove a 24 per cent lift in Navel orange volume versus the year prior, proving that classic packaging with fresh storytelling still resonates with today’s shopper.”
According to Numerator’s 2025 Holiday Preview, 93 per cent of US consumers plan to celebrate at least one major holiday this season, with 68 per cent celebrating three or more – reinforcing the demand for festive grocery purchases.
”With inflation still shaping consumer habits, citrus presents a unique opportunity: it’s affordable, nutritious, and deeply tied to holiday traditions,” Sunkist outlined.
”From immunity-boosting benefits to giftable appeal, oranges remain one of the most versatile seasonal staples in the basket.
”Whether gifted, juiced, or simply enjoyed out of hand, Sunkist Navels remain a timeless symbol of holiday cheer – rooted in more than 130 years of California farming tradition,” it added.
