Tennis legend will urge Brits to “bring out their best side”, starting with brand campaign showcasing ease of use and quality of Albert Bartlett potatoes
Albert Bartlett has announced a high-profile new “long-term” partnership with retired tennis star Andy Murray.
The UK’s leading potato producer explained that the collaboration brings together two Scottish-born British icons with a shared community vision and family values.
The British tennis legend will champion the message that healthy, nutritious food is for everyone, whether they are an athlete, a busy parent, or simply someone who appreciates a delicious meal.
Albert Bartlett CEO Alex Bartlett said: “Andy is someone who has engaged and inspired his home nation and sports fans around the world, delivering that long-awaited British Wimbledon win, not only once, but twice! Along with his US Open win and two Olympic golds. So, who better to engage the nation again and help us serve up the inspiration and resource required to get the nation active and nourished with tasty home-grown produce.”
The potato producer and brand added that the partnership will be multi-faceted, beginning with a brand campaign in which Murray will showcase the ease of use and quality of the Albert Bartlett’s fresh, frozen, and chilled potato ranges.
The idea is to give shoppers more confidence in the kitchen, however the potato supplier stressed that the partnership is about more than just a shared love of great food.
“It’s about a long-term commitment to enable communities across the UK to bring out their best side on the plate and through their participation in sport,” Albert Bartlett explained. “Together, we will encourage the nation to enjoy a healthy lifestyle through sport and a balanced diet and help extend Andy’s legacy far beyond the tennis court.”
Murray first came to know Albert Bartlett over a decade ago as the company has been a long-term supplier of potatoes to Cromlix, the five-star country house hotel owned by the Murrays in Dunblane, Scotland.
He said: “I was lucky during my early playing days to have access to the kit and facilities required to play and develop, and as my career progressed, to have the best diet and training advice available.
“I am excited to partner with Albert Bartlett to showcase the importance of a balanced diet and an active lifestyle to communities across the UK. I hope the project inspires people to play and enjoy sport throughout their lives, at whatever level they are able.”
The extended relationship will also see Albert Bartlett’s partnership grow with Cromlix, with new activity “to inspire the foodie following” of both brands.
