Asda is partnering with Ocado to improve its online shopping experience, mobile app and home delivery service.

The retailer, which takes more than 700,000 online grocery orders per week, will use Ocado’s Smart Platform technology solutions across its website and app, in-store picking and delivery.
Due to begin in 2027, the news follows a major revamp of Asda’s range and pricing, with a focus on fresh and frozen produce categories.
“We know that continued success in this highly competitive market is dependent on providing a positive experience for customers every time they shop,” said Asda executive chairman, Allan Leighton.
”Partnering with Ocado, will strengthen our online offer and provide a consistent and high-quality experience for millions of shoppers, from order through to delivery, while supporting our formula for growth.”
Under the terms, orders placed through rapid delivery partners such as Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats, will be picked by Asda using Ocado’s technology and delivered by the third-party provider.
