Morrisons are offering a range of fruit for 5p, in a bid to encourage more children to eat fruit.

From 31 August until 6 September, More Card members will be able to purchase a 500g pack of Easy Peelers, a six-pack of apples and a five-pack of pears for just 5p each.

With each pack down from £1, the retailer is offering a 95 per cent saving. Customers can purchase a maximum of four packs of each fruit during the promotional period, meaning 12 packs could cost just 60p.

The deal, which coincides with Back to School season, is hoped to help bring more fruit to children’s lunchboxes. The packs, which feature various Disney characters including Winnie the Pooh and Lilo and Stich, are part of the retailer’s tie-in with Disney.

According to data from Veg Power, 80 per cent of children currently fail to achieve the recommended intake levels of fresh produce, with a third eating under a single portion each day.

The deal is available to More Card holders in Morrisons stores nationwide.
