Organisations from legal, agri-tech, finance and food redistribution sectors can join the new scheme, designed to offer year-round benefits to grower members

British growers could benefit from new skills and knowledge exchange from external sectors such as legal, finance or agri-tech under a new partnership scheme run by the industry body.
The new scheme is designed to go further than traditional sponsorship and offer active engagement across the sector throughout the year.
Several organisations have already agreed to join the scheme, with details due to be published in due course.
This first batch of new partners have expertise across finance, legal services, agricultural technology, plant breeding, food redistribution and business support, BGA said.
“This new partnership scheme provides a framework for organisations to work more closely with us and with our members in ways that deliver lasting value for the industry,” said BGA chief executive, John Walgate.
Each partnership will be tailored to reflect specific expertise while providing British Growers’ members with access to specialist knowledge, services and industry insight.
Activities that may come from the scheme could include technical articles and thought leadership, webinars and educational events, as well as conference sponsorship and speaking opportunities.
The BGA can also facilitate member introductions and networking, as well as digital services from podcasts, video and social media campaigns.
“We wanted to create something that goes beyond traditional sponsorship by encouraging organisations to become actively involved throughout the year,” said head of partnerships and administration at British Growers, Lisa Stannard.
