Dyson Farming is working with glasshouse specialist CambridgeHOK on a further 17-acre expansion to its glasshouse strawberry production operations in Lincolnshire.

The project’s third phase, which began with 14 acres in 2020, will also include an extension to the on-site packhouse, an additional cold store and around 14 acres of high-tech polytunnels to enhance summer production during hotter months.

The site also houses Dyson’s innovative vertical rotating growing system and R&D labs, and with the most recent expansion, will cover 42 acres of glass at the company’s Carrington site.

Annual yields currently reach 1,250 tonnes of strawberries a year, with supply extending year-round from winter season British production into summer.

“We always say at CambridgeHOK that a project can be considered a success if a customer comes back for project two, and then project three, and for that to happen with

Patrick Harte, joint managing director of CambridgeHOK, added: ”There is a true transparency in the nature of our relationship and we have a great understanding of how we each work.

“They are a hugely successful organisation who put their trust and faith in us back when we built the very first phase in 2020.”
