The premium blackberry variety, described as ‘juicier and less tart’ than traditional blackberries, impressed judges with its ‘out-of-this-world delicious’ flavour profile and ‘consistently plump and juicy’ texture

Driscolls Sweetest Batch Blackberries

Driscoll’s has plucked another coveted prize for its berries, this time winning the title of best blackberry at the Good Housekeeping’s 2025 Snack Awards.

The company scooped the award for its Sweetest Batch blackberries, which it says offer a bold, luscious flavour and a smooth, velvety texture, thanks to years of careful breeding and testing.

“Sweetest Batch Blackberries come from proprietary blackberry varieties traditionally bred by a dedicated team of agronomists, breeders, sensory analysts, plant health scientists and entomologists exclusively for Driscoll’s network of independent farmers to grow and harvest,” the group said in a statement.

“These berries are juicier and less tart than traditional blackberries and require specific growing conditions, which is why they can be found in limited amounts during certain times of the year.”

The product earned high praise from Good Housekeeping’s judging panel. One tester was quoted as saying: “I wasn’t expecting much from these, but was so surprised in the best way. They are unbelievably good”

Others rpeortedly underscored the berries’ unique flavour profile with comments like “out-of-this-world delicious,” “consistently plump and juicy”, and “next-level.”

Driscoll’s introduced its Sweetest Batch berries in 2019, when it claimed to be the only produce company to market a complete range of premium strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries.
