Leading North American grower-supplier will debut new lines of micro-grape tomatoes and mini snack cucumbers in Toronto

Small products are big news for North American suppplier Mastronardi Produce, which has a couple of snack-related innovations up its sleeve as it heads to the 2026 Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s Convention and Tradeshow in Toronto in late April.
The group will show off Tomato Branch, a trademarked triangular pack of small, elongated tomatoes sold on the vine, as well as mini snack cucumbers marketed under the name Pop its.
The products, which are both sold under Mastronardi’s widely recognised Sunset brand, have also been nominated for awards in this year’s CPMA showcase categories.
“CPMA is one of the highlights of our year, and this year we’re bringing two innovations to the show,” said Paul Mastronardi, president and CEO of Mastronardi Produce. “Pop Its snack cucumbers and the Sunset Tomato Branch represent everything we stand for – incredible flavour, thoughtful packaging, and a drive to make produce more exciting and convenient for consumers.”
Making its tradeshow debut at CPMA, Sunset Tomato Branch is described as “vibrant red micro-grape tomatoes… packaged in a stunning on-the-vine presentation, all housed in a unique triangle paperboard package”.
With its high-end finish and premium materials, the product is designed to exude luxury, the company added, and to stand out as perfect for entertaining, charcuterie boards, salad toppings, and other special, memorable meals.
Sunset Pop Its, meanwhile, are part of this year’s Best Snackable Produce Showcase.
Recently launched in Canada, the US, and the UK, the measure no more than two inches long and were nominated for this year’s Fruit Logistica Innovation Award.
“There’s nothing like the energy on the CPMA show floor,” said Peppe Bonfiglio, sales vice-president at Mastronardi Produce. “Our team is excited to put these innovations in front of our partners and let them taste and experience each for themselves.”
