Supplier secures antitrust approval to satisfy key closing condition for planned acquisition, expected to go ahead this week
Tropical fruit supplier Mission Produce has taken a major step towards its planned merger with Calavo Growers, after it cleared a major regulatory hurdle in Mexico.
In a statement, the company said it had obtained antitrust clearance from Mexico’s Federal Economic Competition Commission.
This apparently satisfies the acquisition’s closing condition – set forth in a previously announced merger agreement – regarding the receipt of antitrust approval in Mexico.
As such, subject to other conditions being met, Mission Produce and Calavo are expected to complete the deal on Thursday, 28 May.
